Inaugural Address of the President of the Korean Neurocritical Care Society
Distinguished members of the Korean Neurocritical Care Society,
I am deeply grateful and feel a profound sense of responsibility as I take on the important role of President of the Korean Neurocritical Care Society in August 2025. I extend my sincere respect to all past presidents and members who have dedicated themselves to the development of our society.
The field of neurocritical care is rapidly advancing, and our society has played a pivotal role in this changing landscape. Standing here, I pledge to do my utmost to ensure that our society improves the quality of neurological critical care, vitalizes related research, and ultimately contributes to the promotion of public health in the rapidly evolving medical environment.
To achieve this, I intend to focus on the following goals:
• Strengthening Academic Capabilities: We will contribute to enhancing the expertise of our members by sharing the latest knowledge and fostering active academic exchange. We will operate regular academic conferences and training programs more substantially and spare no effort in supporting the growth of young researchers.
• Promoting Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaboration across various fields is essential in neurocritical care. We will strengthen organic cooperation with related fields such as neurology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, and anesthesiology and pain medicine to establish an optimized, patient-centered treatment environment.
• Expanding Policy Proposals and External Activities: We will actively participate in policy proposals for practical institutional improvements and raise awareness of the importance of neurocritical care. We will expand exchanges with related societies and organizations both domestically and internationally to enhance the standing of our society.
• Enhancing Member Communication and Welfare: We will listen to the opinions of our members and strive to ensure that the society provides practical assistance to them. We will focus on increasing member satisfaction through transparent and efficient society operations.
All these goals are difficult to achieve without the active participation and support of our members. I will concentrate all my efforts on the further development and leap forward of the Korean Neurocritical Care Society, and I look forward to opening the future together with you.
I ask for your deep interest and warm encouragement.
Thank you.
Korean Neurocritical Care Society
